HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

Case Manager/Parent Coach will work with families who are involved with the ODHS Child Welfare system and/orย resideย in theย Transitional Treatment Recovery Servicesย program. Parent Coach will provide varying hours of hands-on parent coaching/education, interventions, and skills training to achieve behavioral changes in families where child safety issues are present. Provider is identified as a โ€œSafety Service Providerโ€ and will provide transportation and services in the community and in the familyโ€™s home. Will attend meetings and collaborate with ODHSย Case Workers, communityย partnersย and other agencies, which includes providing detailed andย timelyย oral and written reports.ย Useย evidence-basedย curriculum to implement andย facilitateย parent education groups in a community living environment.

  • Provideย a range of services in-home or community based, including parent education, modeling and mentoring, communication skills, self-care, home management, nutrition, etc. to support and achieve behavioral changes in families where child safety issues are present.ย ย ย ย 
  • Assess parental capacities related to child safety, well-being, and needs to help resolve child and family safety and attachment concernsย 
  • Identifyย and create goals in partnership with ODHS Child Welfare and clientย 
  • Provide supervised visits to children separated from one or both parents to ease the transition fromย Resource parentsย or relative placement to homeย 
  • Mayย occasionallyย provide respiteย careย in the home or community, including recreational activities and behavioral monitoringย 
  • Prepare curriculum and teach parenting groups as neededย 
  • Workย a flexible schedule to meet familiesโ€™ needs and be available for crisis consultation; including occasional weekends andย evenings andย be available forย weekendย on-call rotationย oneย timeย monthly.ย 
  • Coordinate access and provision of services from multiple agencies, including establishing service linkages, advocating for serviceย needsย and obtaining entitlementsย 
  • Work with a variety of individuals in difficult circumstances, including angry and hostile clients, disadvantaged individuals, families in provision of services, mentally/emotionally ill individuals, and developmentally delayed clientsย 
  • Identifyย families with drug and alcohol dependence, physical, and sexually abused children

HOW YOU WILL BE A GREAT FIT:

  • Must have well-developed communication skills, both written and verbalย 
  • Must be neat, organized, andย accurateย 
  • Must be able to work well under pressure and be comfortable in a multicultural settingย 
  • Must be able to multitask and set prioritiesย 
  • Must be able toย maintainย confidentialityย 
  • Have respectful, open, unbiased, and accepting attitude toward clients and their familiesย 
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or another related field,ย or equivalent experience, isย required.
  • Two years of experience working withย high-riskย families within the last five years, including experience working with sexually abused youth, victims/perpetrators of domestic violence, and alcohol/drugย addictionsย isย required.ย 
  • At least two years of experience providing in-home services, such as: budgeting, housekeeping, nutrition, household management,ย appropriate physicalย care of children, and parenting skills and techniquesย isย required.ย ย 
  • Standard LCSNW criminal clearance, including national sex offender. Motor vehicle records, valid driverโ€™sย licenseย and auto insurance areย required.ย ย
