Highlights:

Summary: The Sale Associate shall be responsible to perform a variety of clerical and customer service tasks in support of the day to day operations of the gift shop. This individual shall prepare the cash register and handle telephone calls. The Associate will initiate and complete sales transactions with proper customer service skills. Additionally, the Associate will conduct daily inspection of store to ensure that merchandise and overall store appearance is well stocked and maintained in a neat and clean manner. The Associate will also assess the needs and wants of customers to ensure their expectations are met during their shopping experience. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.
Education / Experience: High school graduate or equivalent preferred. At least 6 months experience as a cashier in retail setting preferred.License / Certification: noneKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:• Positive attitude, outgoing and enjoys interacting with public,
• good manners and customer service skills.
• Must be flexible and willing to work in any area of need within department (off campus deliveries, unloading trucks, and errands inside hospital) as needed.Work Conditions/Physical Requirements:Position requires sitting for 1% of the workday and mobility 99% of the workday.
There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action.
Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 100 pounds.
There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person.
Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range.
Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. with occasional outside (e.g. Rx deliveries and unloading truck).
Much exposure to computer work.
Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock.
Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks.
Some exposure to hazardous chemicals. Occasional exposure to radiation.
Minimal noise levels.
