Description of Responsibilities

The Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and professional delivery of specialty and infusion medications and supplies to patients, clinics, and healthcare providers. This role requires a strong commitment to service excellence and a high level of accountability to ensure medications are handled and delivered according to company protocols and state regulations.


Responsibilities of the Driver include the following:

· Pick up and deliver prescriptions, medical supplies, and related paperwork to patients, clinics, infusion centers, and other pharmacy locations in a timely and accurate manner, using a personal vehicle as required.

· Ensure the integrity of medications during transport by properly packing, labeling, and securing shipments using approved materials (e.g., bubble wrap, packing paper).

· Confirm deliveries through appropriate documentation and maintain accurate daily delivery logs, mileage records, and patient census updates.

· Troubleshoot and communicate delivery delays or issues with patients, referral sources, and internal pharmacy teams to ensure timely resolution.

· Maintain sufficient inventory of shipping and delivery supplies.

· Assist pharmacy and operations teams with packing, labeling, answering phones, and other department tasks as assigned.

· Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness and follow all safety, traffic, and regulatory requirements.

· Act as a courteous, professional representative of Specialty Care Rx at all times.

· Participate in pharmacy performance improvement initiatives, in-service education, and continuing education programs as required.

Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

•High school diploma or equivalent.

•Valid state issued driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, and proof of insurance.

•Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and navigate stairs as required.

•Basic computer skills, including data entry, email use, and familiarity with word processing and internet navigation.

•Ability to work under close supervision and follow established procedures.

•Reliable, punctual, and able to consistently complete assigned tasks.
