Best Portable Toilets | Des Moines, Iowa

Keep Our Restroom Trailer Fleet Road-Ready

Are you mechanically inclined, comfortable towing trailers, and good at solving problems in the field? Best Portable Toilets is looking for a dependable Restroom Trailer Technician to maintain, repair, deliver, and set up our growing fleet of restroom trailers.

This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys variety, works well independently, and takes pride in finding practical solutions. One day you may be completing repairs in the shop, and the next you may be delivering and setting up a trailer at a customer location.

What You’ll Do

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and test restroom trailer systems
  • Perform plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general maintenance
  • Deliver, move, and set up restroom trailers at customer locations
  • Tow RV-style trailers using a company pickup truck
  • Prepare and refurbish trailers returning from long-term rentals
  • Complete seasonal winterization and monitor winterization systems
  • Respond professionally to customer questions and service needs
  • Complete service tickets accurately for maintenance and cost records
  • Recommend equipment upgrades and process improvements
  • Follow all company safety procedures and operating standards

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with plumbing systems commonly found in homes, RVs, or trailers
  • At least two years of experience in maintenance, field service, construction, RV repair, plumbing, or a related field
  • Clean driving record and confidence towing trailers behind a pickup truck
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently
  • Professional communication skills when working with customers and coworkers
  • High school diploma or equivalent

A Class B CDL with air brake and tanker endorsements is preferred but not required.

Physical and Work Requirements

This is an active, hands-on role performed in the shop and outdoors at customer locations, construction sites, and event venues. The position requires regular standing, walking, bending, climbing, lifting, and equipment operation. Candidates must be able to lift approximately 50 pounds and work in varying weather conditions.
