What is a Rust software developer?

A Rust Software Developer is a programmer who specializes in using the Rust programming language to build software applications. Rust is known for its focus on safety, speed, and concurrency, making it popular for systems programming, web services, and performance-critical tasks. Rust Software Developers may work on a variety of projects, from operating systems and embedded devices to backend web servers and command-line tools. Their responsibilities include writing, testing, and maintaining code, as well as collaborating with other developers to design robust and efficient systems.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Rust software developer?

To thrive as a Rust Software Developer, you need a solid background in systems programming, memory management, and proficiency in Rust, often supported by a degree in computer science or related experience. Familiarity with version control systems like Git, build tools such as Cargo, and experience with cross-platform development are typically required. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication set outstanding candidates apart. These abilities are essential for building safe, efficient, and reliable software in demanding technical environments.

What are some common challenges faced by Rust software developers when working on large-scale projects?

Rust Software Developers often encounter challenges related to managing complex codebases, especially as projects scale. The language's strict ownership and borrowing rules, while beneficial for safety and concurrency, can make refactoring and integrating with legacy systems more time-consuming. Additionally, since Rust is still a relatively new language, developers may face limited library support or community resources for certain specialized tasks. Collaborating closely with teammates and leveraging thorough documentation helps to streamline workflows and overcome these hurdles.

What is the difference between Rust Software vs C++ Developer?

The position offers the opportunity to work across public and private blockchain networks, including Ethereum/EVM, Hyperledger Besu, Canton/Daml, Layer 2 solutions, and emerging tokenization protocols.

Key Responsibilities
Web3 Platform Engineering
  • Design and develop scalable Web3 platform services for tokenization, blockchain connectivity, wallet integration, transaction processing, and event indexing.
  • Build backend services that interact with blockchain nodes, smart contracts, custody platforms, signing systems, and off-chain applications.
  • Create blockchain abstraction layers supporting multiple networks and enterprise blockchain platforms.
  • Develop integrations with Ethereum-compatible networks, Hyperledger Besu, permissioned blockchains, and Canton/Daml ecosystems.
  • Implement blockchain connectivity using JSON-RPC, WebSockets, smart contract queries, transaction monitoring, and event processing.
  • Support Canton/Daml workflows, including participant connectivity, application package management, transaction authorization, and workflow integration.

  • Support address management, transaction controls, approval workflows, and operational governance.

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience building distributed systems, financial platforms, blockchain infrastructure, transaction systems, or custody solutions.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Web3 and blockchain engineering.
  • Deep knowledge of Ethereum/EVM architecture, smart contracts, transaction lifecycles, gas management, events, confirmations, and finality.
  • Experience integrating with blockchain nodes, wallets, custody platforms, signing systems, and smart contracts.
  • Proficiency with JSON-RPC, WebSockets, blockchain event indexing, transaction monitoring, and blockchain data models.
  • Strong understanding of wallet infrastructure, digital asset custody, key management, and transaction signing.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Go, Kotlin, TypeScript, Rust, Python, or C++.
  • Experience building APIs, microservices, event-driven systems, cloud-native applications, and production services.
  • Ability to independently lead complex projects from architecture through production deployment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Hyperledger Besu, permissioned EVM networks, or private blockchain deployments.
  • Experience with Canton, Daml, validator/participant architectures, DAR deployment, and institutional blockchain workflows.
  • Knowledge of smart contract security, auditing, formal verification, fuzz testing, and secure deployment practices.
  • Experience building blockchain indexers, token lifecycle platforms, transaction orchestration systems, or custody integrations.
  • Familiarity with token standards including ERC-20, ERC-721, ERC-1155, ERC-1400, and ERC-3643.
  • Experience working in highly regulated, security-sensitive, or high-value transaction environments.
  • Blockchain certifications or training related to Ethereum, Besu, Canton, or Daml are a plus.

Why Join Us?
  • Build innovative digital asset and tokenization solutions.
  • Work with cutting-edge Web3 and blockchain technologies.
