Job description

Title:   Backend Software Engineer III           Location:  Orlando (Fully On Site)

Reports To:  VP, Development                    FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Description:  We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer with demonstrated full-stack development experience across mobile, desktop, and embedded platforms. The ideal candidate is passionate about pushing the boundaries of software engineering and has experience with a diverse range of technologies including Flutter, Rust, Swift, C#, C, and C++. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building sophisticated applications that integrate closely with camera hardware using low-level USB commands (UVC and Extension Unit controls), while also contributing to the design and implementation of robust, scalable systems using microservices architecture and SQL-based data storage.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of cross-platform applications on desktop and mobile using C#, Flutter, Rust, Swift, C, and C++.
  • Implement and maintain communication with camera devices using USB Video Class (UVC) and Extension Unit (XU) commands for hardware control.
  • Collaborate with engineering, QA, product, and hardware teams to integrate new camera features across client platforms.
  • Architect and optimize low-latency, high-performance systems that interact with hardware interfaces and multimedia components.
  • Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, database schemas, and stored procedures for reliable data operations.
  • Troubleshoot hardware-related issues at the USB level and design diagnostic tooling when needed.
  • Contribute to and uphold strong software development practices including code reviews, unit testing, CI/CD, and documentation.
  • Mentor other developers and support the continuous improvement of engineering standards and practices.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Deep expertise in C# with strong fundamentals in object-oriented programming and multithreading.
  • Proven experience developing and shipping applications with Flutter (Dart), Rust, Swift, C, and C++.
  • Demonstrated experience building microservices and distributed systems.
  • Proficient with SQL, including writing complex queries, designing schemas, and performing query optimization.
  • Hands-on experience working with USB protocols and low-level hardware interfaces, specifically UVC/XU camera control.
  • Experience building and maintaining mobile apps (iOS/Android) and desktop clients (macOS/Windows/Linux).
  • Solid grasp of secure software practices, networking, and memory management.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills; ability to lead discussions, troubleshoot issues, and present technical solutions clearly.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in healthcare software or video conferencing solutions.
  • Familiarity with EMR/EHR integration, FHIR, or HL7 standards.
  • Experience with Azure or other cloud-based platforms and microservices architecture.
  • Exposure to cross-platform UI/UX principles and accessibility best practices.
