Responsibilities:
  • Work on Rust Acceleration in Production - Infrastructure Team alongside the broader Core Rust team (C++/Rust interop, platform, library development experience, and AI tooling), and partner to prioritize the selection of dependencies and deliver library migrations in accordance with technical and business requirements.
  • Align with the owning parties, ensure they participate in the rewrite design and implementation, and ensure that they will be prepared to take full ownership.
  • Design the optimal end state of a Rust implementation of the dependency, relying on the requirements, goals, and shape of a Rust software ecosystem specialized for low-level systems software when developing this design.
  • Design and execute on the migration path, grounded in customers' needs.Consider the preferred code migration approach, the desired level of intellectual control of the codebase, and safe rollout constraints.
