Location: Chicago, IL (Remote Eligible) | Job Type: Contract
About the Role
Join a pioneering Digital Asset Innovation team as a Senior Blockchain Developer, driving the digital transformation of asset servicing functions at Northern Trust. Leverage your expertise in Java and blockchain technologies to architect, build, and secure next-generation decentralized solutions. Engage with a forward-thinking team utilizing emerging technologies such as cloud, distributed ledgers, and machine learning to position our organization at the forefront of the digital asset space.
Responsibilities
- Architect, implement, and maintain secure, scalable blockchain networks and decentralized applications
- Design and deploy smart contracts and protocol-level access controls on leading Blockchain/DLT platforms
- Integrate off-chain data with on-chain processes through Oracle development
- Build robust integration libraries to connect blockchain solutions with internal servers and APIs
- Lead code reviews, provide mentorship, and contribute to best practices across the engineering team
- Document blockchain development processes and ensure compliance with data protection regulations
- Stay updated on the latest trends in cryptography, cybersecurity, and blockchain advancements
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, delivering high-impact solutions on time and within scope
