Software and Systems Security Engineer
Colorado Springs, CO
TS/SCI
$150,000 - $180,000 base salary
Job Responsibilities:
  • Design, build, and maintain technology solutions and systems that provide security for on-prem systems, networks, and data. This can include:
    • Authentication and identity services, including multi-factor solutions, network access control identity servers, and related authentication and authorization technologies.
    • Network security systems and the backend infrastructure that powers such services.
    • Application level security controls (e.g. web application firewalls)
    • Enabling and enforcing Secure Coding pattern implementation, verification, and validation
    • Cloud deployments security policy enforcement, centralized configuration management, monitoring, etc.
    • Work collaboratively with Cybersecurity and IT teams to identify threats and problem areas, using that feedback to further strengthen tools and technologies.
    • Create solutions that are scalable, repeatable, maintainable, and secure.
  • Assisting with Kubernetes deployments, troubleshooting, and improving security posture using Gitlab pipelines and ArgoCD GitOps patterns

Required Skills:
  • Development experience creating and deploying secure services in any modern programming language (including but not limited to Python, Rust, Go)
  • Strong familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes and source control technologies
  • Familiarity with cloud security services, concepts, and best practices
  • Experience developing security architectures

Desired Skills:
  • Automating processes between tools and systems (using tools such as Ansible, Powershell, et al)
  • Familiarity with enterprise security controls and security best practices for Linux systems
