Security Guard

Ambassador, A Villa Center is seeking a Security Guard to join their team! The security guard maintains a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, and employees by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel.

Security guard duties and responsibilities:

  • Secures premises by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry.
  • Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers. Notifies administrator and HR designee if violators are employees.
  • Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures.
  • May partner with and/or file reports with local law enforcement, as needed.
  • Maintains organization's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.
  • May walk employees and visitors to cars, as needed.
  • May handle light property maintaining to ensure safety, ex. changing lightbulbs, salting sidewalks.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Security guard qualifications and skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Uses good judgment and proven ability to work with confidential information – only sharing information with the administrator and HR designee.
  • A quick learner with the ability to multi-task.
  • Flexibility and ability to work all shifts, as scheduled (24/7 operations).

Security guard education and experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior experience working in security preferred.

Physical requirements:

  • Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required.
