HOURLY RATE AS FOLLOWS:
• $30 per hour for non-certified interpreters/translators
• $35 per hour for certified interpreters/translators

LANGUAGES NEEDED: SPANISH, RUSSIAN, FRENCH, HAITIAN CREOLE, JAPANESE, CHINESE, MANDARIN, VIETNAMESE, URDU, TWI, ARABIC
FLSA STATUS: Non- Exempt/Temporary Position
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Temporary (AS NEEDED)
REPORTS TO: District Bilingual Liaison
QUALIFICATIONS Education Level:
  • High School Diploma
  • Fluency in oral and written language other than English
  • Some experience preferred
  • Routine physical activities that are required to fulfill job responsibilities.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sedentary Work:
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/ or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES:?

  1. Interpret (oral) in specified language at Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, Student Support Team (SST) meetings, disciplinary meetings, 504 meetings, parent-teacher conferences, or other requested school system meetings. Meetings may be virtual or in-person and as needed.

  1. Translate (written) documents, handbooks, letters, notices, webpages or other requested school system documentation from English to specified language, as needed.

  1. Demonstrates prompt attendance.

  1. Participates in training, in-service and learning opportunities.
