Job Description

BeVera Solutions, LLC is seeking an experienced Biostatistician to provide biostatistical review and consultation supporting CDC's global HIV and TB scientific portfolio under PEPFAR, ensuring the statistical validity of protocols, manuscripts, abstracts, reports, and public-use datasets. This position will support services to ensure DGHT can rigorously conduct and cover the science-related functions for the division and for CDC’s PEPFAR program in the efficient and effective implementation and continuity of lifesaving HIV services; reviewing project plans or protocols, manuscripts, and abstracts for the validity of epidemiological methods; ensuring PEPFAR and global TB programs compliance with CDC data management, access, and transparency policy; and coordinating the review and approval of all programs scientific clearances.


NOTE: Position Contingent upon award of contract. This role is part of a pre-award candidate search for an upcoming federal government contract.

Requirements:
  • Review research protocols for study objectives/hypotheses, study design, sample size and statistical power, sampling plans, data collection and analysis plans, data management, security/confidentiality procedures, and data retention plans.
  • Review manuscripts, abstracts, and reports for correctness of statistical methods, appropriateness of design, validity of conclusions, and clarity/consistency of tables, figures, and reported numbers.
  • Review public-release datasets, including data use manuals, codebooks/data dictionaries, survey design and weighting sections, and completeness/quality of data.
  • Spot-check statistical software code (e.g., R, SAS, STATA) for functionality, annotation, and reproducibility of results.
  • Prepare monthly status reports and end-of-period final summary reports.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience performing comparable biostatistical review/support duties.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with specialized statistical software (R, SAS, or STATA).
  • Experience supporting protocol and manuscript development.
  • Experience conducting scientific/statistical reviews.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high quality/error free deliverables.
  • Must be eligible to pass a National Agency Check and Inquiries (NACI) investigation and fingerprinting for CDC facility/system access
  • Experience in implementing best practices in a public health setting.
  • This position requires a 40-hour work week, excluding federal holidays and weekends. Work Hours: Full-time, 40 hrs./week, core hours 7:30–9:00 AM start
  • Experience working with/in the CDC
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
