Role Summary

We are looking for a strategic and entrepreneurial individual to help sell and scale Derin, Surgo’s behavioral intelligence platform, across the US healthcare market. Derin is licensed to healthcare organizations as an ongoing intelligence layer, and this role is central to growing that business. The right person will help sharpen where Derin plays, build the relationships that open doors, and guide opportunities from first conversation through close, onboarding, and long-term success. Beyond individual deals, you will also build the repeatable sales process and playbook that scales with us. This role calls for someone equally comfortable with long-term strategy and near-term execution, with the curiosity, creativity, and adaptability to make something new thrive.

About Derin

Derin is Surgo Health's breakthrough behavioral intelligence product — a platform that reveals the why behind how people engage with health. Through adaptive AI conversations, Derin equips healthcare organizations with a layer of behavioral intelligence they need to design better interventions, allocate resources more effectively, and drive meaningful outcomes at scale. Derin is a product with significant runway across multiple markets, and this role exists to unlock that potential in the US domestic healthcare space.

What you’ll achieve
  • Define and execute Identify the highest-value targets in the US domestic healthcare market and build the top of the funnel
  • Own the full sales cycle from pipeline development and client engagement through negotiation and close
  • Continuously sharpen Derin's value proposition for each sector, translating the platform's capabilities into the language and priorities of each audience
  • Act as the connective tissue between clients, product, R&D, and product marketing bringing market signals and client feedback back in to inform how Derin evolves
  • Refine go-to-market messaging and positioning in partnership with product marketing, ensuring Derin resonates across diverse audiences
  • Identify and unlock channel partnerships, reseller opportunities, and other levers to scale reach
  • Represent Derin externally, strengthening its presence and credibility across sectors
  • Build toward a repeatable and scalable sales function over time, establishing process, culture, and performance standards
About you
  • You are a builder energized by bringing an innovative product to market with demonstrated track record closing licensing or data product deals with healthcare operators, health systems, or mission-driven health organizations.
  • You have a demonstrated track record selling or positioning data, analytics, or AI-driven products to sophisticated, diverse buyer types as well as closing complex, high-value deals in consultative environments
  • Experience building or inheriting a nascent commercial function and creating repeatable process where none existed
  • You are fluent across both strategic and tactical work with an ability to develop a market entry plan and draft a client proposal with equal confidence
  • You bring intellectual flexibility and natural curiosity, allowing you to quickly learn new sectors, speak their language, and identify where Derin creates the most value
  • You are a strong communicator and storyteller with an ability to translate complex data capabilities into compelling narratives for the target audience
  • You have navigated multi-stakeholder environments and know how to build consensus, move decisions forward, and close
  • You have experience building or scaling an early-stage commercial function, and bring the ownership mindset and resilience to thrive without a playbook
  • You thrive in ambiguity, learn by doing, and refine your approach based on what the market tells you
  • You bring high energy, resilience, and an ownership mindset to everything you do

Location: This position will be based at our headquarters in Washington, DC. We operate in a hybrid model, with our full DC team in the office at least two days/week on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Travel: Some travel expected to conferences and specific client events or meetings.
