Summary:
This position offers both part-time and on-call opportunities. The Expeditor/Runner plays a critical role in ensuring smooth operations between the kitchen and dining room. This position is responsible for facilitating clear communication between kitchen staff and servers, ensuring food is prepared and presented accurately and efficiently, and delivering dishes to guests promptly and professionally. The Expeditor/Runner ensures high-quality service and supports the overall dining experience at the country club.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Inspect all plates leaving the kitchen for proper presentation, accuracy, and temperature.
  • Ensure all dishes meet the country club's high-quality standards before they are served to guests.
  • Act as the primary link between the kitchen and front-of-house staff, ensuring seamless communication.
  • Relay any special requests, dietary needs, or timing adjustments to the kitchen team.
  • Deliver food items to guests in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Assist servers with table maintenance, including clearing and resetting tables as needed.
  • Maintain an organized and clean expediting station to ensure efficiency during service.
  • Follow health and safety guidelines to uphold cleanliness and sanitation standards.
  • Support servers and kitchen staff during busy periods to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist in stocking service areas with necessary supplies, such as utensils and condiments.
  • Provide excellent customer service, addressing guest inquiries or concerns courteously.
  • Represent the country club professionally, upholding its values and commitment to a premier dining experience.

Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
  • Previous experience in a similar role in a restaurant, hotel, or country club setting is preferred.
  • Strong communication and multitasking abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 30 pounds, and move quickly throughout the shift.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Minimum Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Language Skills:
The individual must have strong written communication skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with employees and clients at all levels of the organization, both verbally and in writing.
Availability:
Varied working hours to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Subject to callback during emergency conditions (severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.)
Work Environment:
The expeditor/runner works in a well-lighted, clean environment. S/he constantly interacts with other people and may have to handle several responsibilities at once.

Salary Description
