The Role Responsibilities
As a Middle School Assistant Cross Country Coach, you will help teach fundamental running techniques, proper training habits, race strategy, and sportsmanship while fostering a positive, encouraging, and team-first environment. The assistant coach will support the implementation of practice plans, assist during meets, and help student-athletes develop the skills, confidence, and work ethic needed for future success at the high school level. Additional responsibilities include ensuring athlete safety, promoting character development, communicating effectively with student-athletes, parents, and staff, and supporting the administrative needs of the program.
Role Requirements
The ideal candidate will cultivate teamwork, perseverance, accountability, and sportsmanship while working collaboratively with the Head Cross Country Coach and fellow coaching staff to build a positive and competitive middle school cross country program. The Middle School Assistant Coach will support the overall philosophy of the cross country program by providing quality instruction, encouraging individual growth, and helping student-athletes develop a lifelong appreciation for running, fitness, and healthy competition. The successful candidate will maintain clear and consistent communication with student-athletes, parents, and staff while upholding the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and academic support for all student-athletes.
