Cheer UP Athletics | East Providence, RI

Job description:

Cheer UP Athletics is seeking an experienced and energetic All Star Cheer Tumbling Coach (Level 3+) to join our growing competitive cheer program. We are looking for coaches who are passionate about athlete development, safety, and helping athletes progress from foundational tumbling through advanced skills.
This position is ideal for candidates with extensive experience coaching Level 3 and above athletes, including back handsprings, tucks, layouts, fulls, and advanced tumbling combinations. Our athletes compete at a high level, and we are seeking coaches who can confidently teach skill progressions, safely spot athletes (including for running tumbling), and help in creating a positive, motivating training environment.
Position Details
● Independent Contractor (1099)
● Compensation: Up to $50 per class, based on experience
● Flexible scheduling
● Consistent coaching opportunities available
Availability Needed
We are currently seeking coaches with availability during the following times:
● Monday–Thursday evenings
● Immediate and urgent need for Tuesday evening availability
● Saturday mornings
Candidates do not need to be available for every shift listed; however, priority consideration will be given to those who can consistently coach on Tuesday evenings. Additional coaching opportunities may be available based on athlete enrollment and program needs.

Responsibilities
● Coach tumbling classes for athletes of varying ages and skill levels
● Teach proper tumbling technique, body awareness, and skill progressions
● Safely spot standing and running tumbling skills across multiple levels
● Coach athletes from foundational tumbling through advanced skills
● Provide technical feedback and corrections to improve execution and confidence
● Foster a positive, structured, and motivating training environment
● Maintain a strong commitment to athlete safety
● Collaborate with fellow coaches to support athlete and program development
● Help prepare athletes for performances, showcases, and competitive cheer events
Qualifications
● Previous coaching experience in competitive cheerleading, All Star cheer, gymnastics, dance (acro), and/or tumbling instruction
● Extensive experience coaching Level 3 and above tumbling athletes
● Ability to safely teach, spot, and progress athletes in:
○ Standing back handsprings
○ Running back handsprings
○ Standing tucks
○ Running tucks
○ Layouts
○ Fulls
○ Advanced tumbling passes and combinations
● Demonstrated experience spotting running tumbling passes, including back handsprings, tucks, layouts, and fulls
● Strong understanding of tumbling progressions, athlete development, and injury prevention
● Experience preparing athletes for competitions preferred
● Current CPR/First Aid certification is a plus
● Must be currently registered with the United States All Star Federation (USASF) or willing to obtain registration upon hire
● Must successfully complete and maintain all required USASF background screenings, athlete protection training, and coaching credentialing requirements
● Must remain in good standing with USASF throughout engagement with Cheer UP Athletics
