Run Club Coach
St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School is currently seeking a Run Club Coach for the following 2026-2027 school year
The Run Club Coach leads, motivates, and supports a diverse community of runners by planning and facilitating structured group runs and workouts. This role focuses on creating a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment while helping runners of all levels improve consistency, fitness, and confidence.
Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and lead group runs and workouts for multiple pace and experience levels
  • Design inclusive training sessions (easy runs, intervals, hills, tempo, recovery)
  • Modify workouts to accommodate beginners, walk/runners, and experienced athletes
  • Provide basic running technique, pacing, and effort guidance
  • Promote proper warm-up, cool-down, and stretching routines

Runner Support & Safety
  • Foster an encouraging "no runner left behind" culture
  • Monitor runners for signs of fatigue or injury and adjust training as needed
  • Ensure routes are safe and comply with local traffic and safety guidelines
  • Carry or coordinate basic safety supplies when required (phone, first-aid basics)
  • Enforce club policies related to safety, inclusivity, and conduct

Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of recreational running and training fundamentals
  • Experience leading group fitness activities or coaching runners
  • Ability to coach runners of varied abilities in a group setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain)

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, or run for extended periods
