Position Overview

Kiewit is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex marine and heavy civil construction projects within our TIC Marine & Heavy Civil District. Based in Jacksonville, FL, this role will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects, including bridges, deep foundations, rail systems, and concrete structures. The ideal candidate brings extensive field leadership experience, a strong foundation in construction engineering, and a proven ability to manage multi-phase, high-value projects.

District Overview

TIC - The Industrial Company is a subsidiary of Kiewit Corporation. TIC Marine and Heavy Civil self-performs projects with company-owned equipment for public and private sectors. The markets we operate in include dock construction and repair, bridge construction, road construction, mechanical bridge rehabilitation and retrofitting, foundation pile, erosion control structures, drainage structures, shop fabrication, industrial maintenance and varied concrete work.

Responsibilities
  • Lead planning and execution of multiple concurrent marine and heavy civil construction projects, ensuring adherence to Kiewit's safety, quality, schedule, and financial performance standards.
  • Provide operational leadership and mentorship to project superintendents and field teams, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with estimating teams to develop competitive bids and detailed cost estimates for complex marine and civil scopes, including deep foundations, pile driving, and concrete structures.
  • Manage project controls, including scheduling, forecasting, and cost tracking, to ensure alignment with project goals and district performance metrics.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, representing TIC and Kiewit professionally in contract negotiations, change management, and project delivery.
  • Oversee the execution of marine and civil scopes such as cofferdams, bulkheads, bridge erection, and heavy concrete placements, ensuring technical excellence and compliance.
  • Ensure strict adherence to environmental regulations, safety protocols, and quality standards across all phases of project delivery.
  • Support district-level business development initiatives by identifying opportunities, contributing to strategic growth planning, and assisting in proposal development.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and subcontractor teams to ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services.
  • Monitor project performance indicators and proactively implement corrective actions to mitigate risks and drive successful outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in heavy civil and marine construction, with a strong track record in bridge, port, rail, and waterfront infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated success managing large-scale projects (up to $2B), including DOT, public works, and private sector clients.
  • Deep technical expertise in marine and civil scopes such as pile driving, deep foundations, concrete placement, cofferdams, and steel/concrete girder erection.
  • Proficient in estimating and bidding complex civil projects, with a strong command of cost analysis, takeoffs, and proposal development.
  • Advanced skills in project scheduling, resource planning, and construction management tools (e.g., Primavera P6, HCSS, HeavyBid).
  • Proven leadership in directing multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and field operations with a focus on safety, quality, and performance.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and client-facing abilities, with a collaborative approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
