Job description

We have a Direct Hire opportunity for a Ruby Developer - Team Lead in Columbus, OH. The Developer is responsible for both front end and back-end development tasks, including database tasks. The Developer is responsible interacting in a team-based environment with a focus on client delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Deploy features across the tech stack
  • Write maintainable code while iterating and shipping rapidly
  • Ensure appropriate automated test coverage for optimal product reliability and release velocity
  • Refactor existing Ruby or JavaScript code to improve code maintainability and efficiency
  • Develop and document REST APIs
  • Contribute to improving development, Agile, and CI delivery best practices
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Design, Product Management, and Engineering
  • Present new ideas and respectfully debate those ideas with the team


Requirements:

  • 2-4+ years of experience building web and SaaS based applications
  • 1-2+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails (RoR) and excitement about dabbling in other frameworks and technologies
  • A keen eye for good RESTful API design and/or microservice architecture
  • AWS experience a plus
  • Experience with Git source control


Additional Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of professional experience. A Computer Science Degree is preferred
