Ultrasound Technologist
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Ultrasound Technologist to operate medical imaging equipment that directs high-frequency sound waves to anatomy for diagnostic purposes. The successful candidate will be responsible for obtaining high-quality imaging for Radiologist interpretation and ensuring patient safety and care throughout the examination process.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations and special procedures as required.
  • Consult with Radiologists regarding exam reviews prior to patient discharge.
  • Provide ultrasound guidance for attending physicians during special procedures.
  • Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and notify Clinical Engineering as needed.
  • Ensure clinical history is appropriate and verify orders and patient identification.
  • Utilize U/S units and probes to obtain adequate imaging of requested anatomy.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and effective use of the PACS system.
  • Send images after hours when required and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Perform high-level disinfection of endocavity probes in compliance with policy.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification preferred.
  • Core understanding of PACS and EPIC systems.
  • Experience and competence in performing ultrasound examinations.
  • Ability to interact compassionately and effectively with patients.
Schedule
This position operates on a dayshift schedule with up to 36 hours per week guaranteed, within a flexible 13-week contract duration.
