The Asphalt Rubber Blender Manager is responsible for overseeing the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the asphalt rubber blending process. This role manages daily production activities, supervises plant personnel, coordinates material flow, monitors equipment performance, and ensures that finished products meet customer, company, and regulatory quality standards. The manager works closely with operations, quality control, maintenance, and dispatch teams to support production schedules and continuous improvement initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily asphalt rubber blending operations to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
  • Supervise, train, and support blending personnel, ensuring clear work assignments, accountability, and adherence to company standards.
  • Monitor blend formulations, temperatures, additive ratios, and production parameters to ensure compliance with mix specifications and quality requirements.
  • Work with quality control personnel to verify product consistency, testing results, and corrective actions when specifications are not met.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and operational regulations, including company policies and required reporting.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs for blending equipment, tanks, pumps, lines, controls, and related systems to minimize downtime.
  • Inspect operations regularly to identify safety risks, mechanical issues, and process inefficiencies, and take timely corrective action.
  • Manage raw material inventory levels, including asphalt cement, crumb rubber, additives, oils, and other blending components, to support uninterrupted production.
  • Maintain production records, quality documentation, maintenance logs, and operational reports accurately and on time.
  • Collaborate with plant management, dispatch, purchasing, and field operations to support efficient scheduling, delivery, and customer service.
  • Assist in budgeting, cost control, and process improvement efforts to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
  • Lead by example in promoting a culture of safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Operator QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong knowledge of asphalt rubber materials, blending processes, equipment operation, and quality control practices.
  • Working knowledge of safety regulations, environmental compliance requirements, and safe handling practices for hot materials and industrial equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret production schedules, mix formulas, technical instructions, and equipment manuals.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to coordinate across departments.
  • Basic computer skills, including production reporting, email, and spreadsheet or plant management systems.
  • High school diploma or GED required; college coursework or technical training in construction materials, plant operations, mechanical systems, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in asphalt production, asphalt rubber blending, liquid blending, or related industrial operations, with demonstrated leadership experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license required based on business needs.
  • Preferred Class A license
