Job description

Training Schedule: The selected candidate will train on 1st shift for approximately 1-2 months to become familiar with our equipment, processes, quality requirements, and team. Upon successful completion of training, the position will transition to the 2nd shift schedule.

Pay $20 hourly
The Molding Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring plastic injection molding machines to produce high-quality aerospace and precision components. This role plays a key part in maintaining production efficiency, ensuring parts meet established specifications, and upholding safety and quality stands in compliance with AS9100D guidelines. The molding Operator will also be responsible for troubleshooting minor machine issues, performing in-process inspections, and maintaining accurate production records.
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Operations & Production
  • Start and operate plastic injection molding machines according to established procedures and production schedules.
  • Monitor machine performance, cycle times, and material usage to ensure consistent output and minimize waste.
  • Perform material handling duties such as loading/unloading resin, monitoring dryers, and verifying the correct materials are used.
  • Identify and report machine or tooling issues to the Molding Supervisor or Maintenance as needed.
  • Monitor mols and equipment during operation and report any issues or abnormalities.
  • Adhere to production schedules and promptly report delays or equipment downtime.
  • Follow established work instructions and operating procedures for assigned machines and part numbers.

Quality & Documentation
  • Perform in-process inspections to verify dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and overall part integrity
  • Use measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to confirm part conformance
  • Complete required inspection documentation in compliance with AS9100D and customer requirements
  • Identify nonconforming parts, properly segregate them, and notify Quality or the Supervisor immediately
  • Support First Article Inspections (FAIs) by providing accurate samples and proves documentation when needed
  • Maintain Lot control and traceability of all materials and parts throughout the production process
  • Follow establish procedures for handling and documenting deviations, rework, or scrap

Team Support
  • Support team members in meeting production goals
  • Assist with training new operators and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in plastic injection molding or manufacturing preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, or specifications
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while following safety protocols
