Job Summary:

A Junior Technician will work to support the Shamrock Technical Service Department by providing hands-on assistance with refurbishing services for tire retreading equipment and retrofitting customer machines with the patent-pending Automatic Marking System (AMS). This position is 1st shift, 8am to 4:30pm, with potential for flex hours between 7am-5:30pm.  This position is Monday to Friday only.  This position is for 3-6 months (Summer), with potential for full-time.  Shamrock offers good pay and a new breakroom facility with drinks provided.  Located conveniently in Middletown!  Come join our team and help us save the planet, 1 retreaded tire at a time!

 Key Responsibilities:

- Provide technical support to senior engineers and higher-level staff in disassembling, cleaning and repairing legacy machinery and equipment for the Tire Retread & Repair Industry.

- Painting, polishing, or finishing machinery and equipment.

- Maintaining a safe and clean work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.

- Maintain detailed records of all refurbishment work, including parts used, repairs made, and costs involved.

Education and Experience:

o   Highschool diploma or equivalent (preferred)

o   Must be authorized to work in the United States

o   Interest in hands-on mechanical work

Skills and Competencies:

o   Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

o   Previous experience in machine refurbishing and repair/mechanical skills (preferred)

o   Knowledge of electrical systems and components (preferred)

o   Experience with hand and power tools

o   Strong problem-solving skills

o   Ability to work independently and as part of a team

o   Physical ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods of time

Certifications:

o   Forklift certified is a bonus

 Working Conditions:

This is a hands-on position and requires constant walking, bending, standing up, climbing ladders, and heavy-lifting. Work area is heated during the winter but not air conditioned during the summer.
