What is an RT R CT?

RT R CT professionals are registered radiologic technologists (RT), who are certified in both radiography (R) and computed tomography (CT). They are trained to perform diagnostic imaging procedures using X-rays (radiography) and advanced CT scans to help doctors diagnose and treat medical conditions. These technologists operate specialized equipment, ensure patient safety, and often work in hospitals, clinics, or imaging centers. They must follow strict protocols and maintain certifications to ensure high-quality imaging and patient care.

What does an RT R CT do?

As an RT or CT Technologist, your main responsibilities include preparing and positioning patients for imaging procedures, operating sophisticated imaging equipment, and ensuring the quality of diagnostic images. You will collaborate closely with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and accurate results. The daily workflow often involves managing a schedule of patients, maintaining equipment, and following strict protocols for radiation safety and infection control. Effective communication and the ability to reassure patients are also important aspects of the role.
