Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) - Houston, TX
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) to join our team in Houston, Texas. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in establishing and expanding operations in a new market. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, adaptable, and ready to contribute both strategically and in the field.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage all aspects of the company's radiation safety program in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Ensure adherence to NRC/Agreement State requirements and company safety policies
  • Conduct radiation safety training for employees and clients
  • Perform audits, inspections, and incident reporting as required
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies
  • Maintain proper documentation, licensing, and compliance records
  • Support field operations as needed, including on-site radiation safety oversight
Qualifications
  • Current certification and/or qualifications to serve as a Radiation Safety Officer
  • Strong working knowledge of NRC and/or Agreement State regulations
  • Experience in radiation safety management (industry experience preferred)
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, startup-style environment
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Willingness to perform field work when required
