Job description


The Area Sales Director will provide leadership and vision in developing revenue generating initiatives to achieve the current year area business plan and support the long-term strategic sales plan for Neodent USA. This position will drive business growth through relationship management at the Regional Sales Director (RSD) and Digital Sales Specialist (DSS) level. The ASD must anticipate changes in the marketplace, industry, customer base, and competitive positioning, and adjust sales strategies and plans accordingly. The ASD is responsible for all aspects of the sales function in an assigned geographic area; including, but not limited to achievement of sales targets, training and coaching Regional Sales Directors (RSD) and Digital Sales Specialists (DSS) in the implementation of the sales systems and metrics provided by management, and providing relevant market information to Senior Management that ensures the organization's sales volume and profitability objectives are met.

Major responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Develops, implements and updates the Area Business Strategy/Plan to ensure company sales direction is executed for Surgical and/or Restorative product lines.
  • Develops sales strategies to maximize sales revenue and meet established business targets.
  • Directs Regional Sales Directors (RSDs) and Territory Managers (TMs) to achieve individual and region sales goals through a consistent achievement of established KPIs.
  • Trains, develops, coaches and mentors RSD's and TMs to develop superior regional and territory management, including sales processes, leadership skills, product knowledge, industry knowledge, selling skills, and overall sales success.
  • Implements and monitors Neodent's Sales Systems, including CRM and other performance metrics.
  • Develops sales plans and business growth strategies for region.
  • Co-Travels with RSD's and Territory Managers to assess and coach on a quarterly basis.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years sales experience with at least 4 years of prior sales management experience in medical device and/or dental industry
  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline
  • Valid driver's license, safe driving record, maintaining auto insurance coverage

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  • Dental Business to Business (B2B) industry experience
  • Prior sales experience with physicians as the principal point of contact
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and experience
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and business planning skills
  • Demonstrated skills in building high-performance teams guided by specific and measurable objectives in areas such as people development, leadership, and revenue generation
  • Effective management skills with ability to manage an area sales operation
  • Excellent time management, communication, decision-making, human relations, presentation, and organization skills
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Proven track record of attaining sales goals and managing key accounts
  • Proven capability with Microsoft Office applications. (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.)
