Business & Industry Solutions - Office of Research
Responsibilities
The Senior Industry Liaison is responsible for building a portfolio of new industry partners and expanding existing industry collaboration with an emphasis on facilitating industry sponsored research utilizing the unique research capabilities, facilities, and intellectual property at FSU. The Senior Industry Liaison supports meetings between FSU research faculty/staff, potential industry partners, and administration. The successful candidate works directly with industry leadership, Deans, Department Chairs, and most importantly with research faculty/staff to match the expertise and facilities at FSU with the needs of industry.
The Senior Industry Liaison educates Colleges, Departments, and researchers on interactions with industry to develop successful and productive collaborations- including differences in academia and industry objectives and successfully meeting and managing expectations. Supports Industry Research Days where companies are invited in targeted areas to campus for shared learning about industry needs and campus research capabilities. Works directly with community partners and organizations engaged in economic development and partnership efforts.
Participates in and supports development and implementation of the FSU Industry Affiliate Program. The Affiliate program brings industry partners in the same sector into an annual membership- based model to support collaboration around specific FSU research areas.
Qualifications
Master's degree and two years of industry business development or corporate engagement experience or a Bachelor's degree and four years experience industry business development or corporate engagement experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Physics or engineering background.
