Job description

Are you a sharp, detail-oriented construction professional who thrives on ensuring projects are built to the highest standards? We are seeking a Resident Project Representative (RPR) to serve as our vital eyes and ears on the ground. In this role, you will act as the primary liaison between the Architecture/Engineering (A/E) team and the contractor, ensuring quality, compliance, and seamless execution directly at the project site.

What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)

As the A/E's trusted agent on-site, you will work under the direction and supervision of the project management team to oversee day-to-day construction activities. Your core focus areas will include:

  • On-Site Quality Assurance: Conduct continuous site observations to ensure all construction work progresses in strict accordance with contract documents, codes, and specifications.
  • Meticulous Documentation: Maintain the definitive daily project log and comprehensive reports, detailing all site activities, weather conditions, workforce tracking, and equipment usage.
  • Progress Tracking & Reporting: Deliver clear, concise progress reports to the A/E team, keeping stakeholders informed of milestones, hurdles, and timelines.
  • Financial & Schedule Review: Evaluate contractor pay requests and progress schedules to verify that completed work aligns with billing and project timelines.
  • As-Built Management: Prepare and maintain precise Record Drawings tracking all construction installations and any authorized deviations from the original design plans.
  • Specification Interpretation: Serve as the on-site expert in interpreting project specifications regarding material quality, equipment operation, and standards of workmanship.
  • Testing Oversight: Observe, verify, and thoroughly document all critical construction testing procedures.
  • Project Closeout: Partner closely with the A/E team to conduct substantial completion and final inspections, ensuring a flawless handover.

What You Bring

  • Experience: Proven experience in construction inspection, project representation, or site superintendence.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for daily reporting and contractor coordination.
  • Attributes: High level of integrity, strong problem-solving skills, and a eagle-eye view for detail
  • Education: A High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
  • Field Experience (Strongly Preferred): While entry-level candidates with the right aptitude will be considered, preference will be given to candidates with proven hands-on experience in construction inspection, field engineering, site superintendence, or a skilled trade.

If you enjoy autonomy, take pride in meticulous documentation, and want to play a critical role in bringing complex engineering and architectural designs to life, we want to hear from you.
