What is an Rpi?

An Rpi job typically refers to a role involving Raspberry Pi, a small, affordable computer used for programming, robotics, and IoT projects. These jobs often include software development, hardware integration, and system automation. Roles may be found in education, research, hobbyist projects, or industry applications such as embedded systems and prototyping. Knowledge of Python, Linux, and electronics is often beneficial for these positions.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Rpi position, and why are they important?

To succeed as an RPI (Revenue Protection Inspector), you need strong investigative skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of utility operations or legal compliance, often supported by relevant work experience or industry training. Familiarity with billing and metering systems, handheld inspection devices, and compliance management software is typically required. Excellent interpersonal communication, conflict resolution, and integrity are standout soft skills in this field. These abilities are crucial for accurately detecting irregularities, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining professional relationships with customers.

What are the common challenges faced by Revenue Protection Inspectors (RPIs) on the job?

Revenue Protection Inspectors often encounter the challenge of identifying and resolving cases of utility theft or billing inconsistencies, which can sometimes involve difficult customer interactions or complex technical issues. The role may require conducting field investigations in various environments, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and documenting findings accurately for legal or regulatory purposes. RPIs also need to stay up to date with changing technologies, policies, and compliance standards, which can add to the learning curve. However, overcoming these challenges offers valuable experience in investigative work and contributes to protecting crucial company resources.

Machine Operator

Location: Green Bay, WI
Company: RPI, LLC | Premier Outdoor Living
Employment Type: Full-Time
Training: Comprehensive on-the-job training provided

About RPI and Premier Outdoor Living

RPI, LLC is part of Premier Outdoor Living (POL), an entrepreneurial manufacturer producing innovative products for the outdoor living industry. POL operates three unique businesses focused on spa cabinets, HDPE lumber, and outdoor furniture, with manufacturing facilities in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

Our Green Bay team is growing, and we're looking for dependable, motivated individuals to join us as Extrusion Machine Operators.

The Opportunity

As an Extrusion Machine Operator, you'll play an important role in producing high-quality plastic products used in outdoor living applications. You'll operate extrusion equipment, monitor production processes, make adjustments to maintain product quality, and work closely with your teammates to meet production goals.

No extrusion experience? No problem—we will train you!

We're looking for someone with a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and a team-oriented mindset who is eager to learn and grow in a manufacturing environment.

What You'll Do

  • Set up and operate extrusion machines to produce high-quality plastic products.
  • Monitor equipment and production processes to ensure products meet established quality standards.
  • Make adjustments to machine settings and processes to maintain product quality and production efficiency.
  • Perform routine machine and equipment maintenance.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and assist with resolving equipment and production issues.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Maintain accurate production records and reports.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to achieve daily production and quality goals.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities designed to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Accurately compare product color and pattern against established quality control standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of machine operating experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to learn and operate extrusion machinery and related equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings and schematics.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Dependable, safety-conscious, and committed to producing quality products.
  • Ability to meet production goals while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.

We Will Train You

Experience specifically operating extrusion equipment is not required. RPI will provide training to help qualified team members learn our equipment, processes, safety requirements, and quality standards.

If you have manufacturing or machine operating experience, enjoy working with your hands, and are willing to learn, we encourage you to apply.

Physical Requirements

This is an active manufacturing position that requires the ability to:

  • Stand for extended periods.
  • Sit and use hands and fingers to handle, manipulate, or feel materials and equipment.
  • Walk, reach with arms and hands, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed.
  • Work safely around manufacturing machinery and equipment.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Maintain close visual attention to products and equipment.
  • Accurately compare product colors and patterns to established quality standards.
  • Work in a fast-paced production environment.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing environment where noise levels can range from moderate to occasionally loud. Appropriate PPE is required, including hearing protection while in the plant in accordance with applicable safety requirements.

The work environment may include exposure to noise, dust, fumes, machinery, and other manufacturing-related conditions. Employees are expected to follow all safety procedures and properly use required PPE at all times.
