Description

We were recently named one of North America's Best Fleets to Drive For the 5th year in a row, and North America's 2025 #1 Large Carrier to Drive For! Becoming part of the Decker family means becoming part of an award-winning company that also won the "Elite Fleet" award in 2026 and the "Iowa Motor Truck Association Image Campaign" 2 years in the row for community involvement, fundraisers and local donations and was a recipient of Hy-Vee's "Transportation Supplier of the Year" Award.
We are currently looking for a full-time Driver Leader to join our Operations Department! The ideal candidate will have a solid background in Flatbed truckload operations. Great full-time first shift schedule of Monday-Friday 7am-4pm or 8am-5pm!
A day in the life of a Decker Driver Leader looks like:
  • Leading a team of Drivers and managing all aspects of the Driver experience
  • Coaching and mentoring to achieve specific customer service expectations, safety records and business goals
    • To include but not limited to payroll, Driver productivity, asset/equipment utilization, safety & regulatory compliance & auditing
  • Making safety-conscious decisions and ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures
  • Utilizing innovation and continuous improvement to streamline processes and practices
  • Helping to improve Driver retention
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with departments such as customer service, planning, driver pay, regulatory, HR and safety to identify solutions to daily business challenges
  • Other duties as assigned

Driver Leader Must Haves
  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Previous directly-related experience and excellent communication and computer skills
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced professional work environment
  • A background in MS Office is required
  • Capability to calculate time zones, understand DOT HOS regulations, and comprehend military time

Driver Leader Nice to Haves
  • Experience with McLeod Transportation software and Geotab or Isaac E-log systems is a plus
