Job Description

Position Summary

The Unarmed Security Guard is responsible for protecting clients, employees, visitors, property, and facilities by maintaining a visible security presence, monitoring assigned areas, preventing unauthorized access, and responding appropriately to security incidents. The Security Guard is expected to provide professional customer service while maintaining safety, security, and confidentiality at all times.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain a professional and visible security presence at the assigned location.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, hallways, parking areas, and other designated areas.
  • Conduct routine patrols of assigned areas as directed.
  • Control and monitor access to the property.
  • Verify identification, credentials, and authorization when required.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras and security systems when assigned.
  • Observe and report suspicious, unusual, or unauthorized activity.
  • Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, disturbances, and emergencies.
  • Contact law enforcement, fire department, medical services, or other emergency personnel when necessary.
  • Enforce site-specific rules, regulations, and security procedures.
  • Prevent unauthorized persons from entering restricted areas.
  • Maintain accurate daily activity reports, incident reports, and other required documentation.
  • Report safety hazards, property damage, suspicious activity, and security concerns to supervision.
  • Assist with emergency evacuations and emergency response procedures.
  • Provide professional assistance and directions to employees, visitors, and customers.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client, employee, and company information.
  • Preserve the security of the assigned property and report any security vulnerabilities.
  • Follow all company policies, post orders, client requirements, and supervisor instructions.
  • Perform other security-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid Nevada Security Guard Work Card,
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous security, military, law enforcement, customer service, or related experience preferred.
  • Strong observation and communication skills.
  • Ability to remain alert and attentive for extended periods.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional during stressful situations.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to conduct routine patrols.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors.
  • Ability to respond appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Ability to climb stairs and navigate the assigned property when required.
  • Ability to lift or carry equipment as required by the assignment.

Work Environment

Security Guards may work in a variety of environments, including commercial buildings, residential properties, construction sites, warehouses, hospitals, government facilities, special events, and other client locations.

Schedules may include:

  • Day, or overnight shifts.
  • Weekends and holidays.
  • Overtime or extended shifts when required.
  • Indoor and outdoor assignments.
