Summit Radiology | Fort Wayne, IN
Local to Fort Wayne or Indianapolis preferred; remote considered
Full-Time, Exempt
About the Role
Summit Radiology is a teleradiology provider supporting hospitals and imaging clinics across multiple states. Our network infrastructure connects radiologists, clinical systems, datacenters, offices, and client hospital environments where reliability directly supports patient care.
We're looking for a Senior Network Engineer who combines strong networking experience with initiative and a hands-on attitude. We want someone who takes ownership, digs in when the answer isn't obvious, and is equally comfortable planning a network change or working in a rack at the datacenter.
This position reports administratively to the IT Manager and works under the technical direction of the Network Architect. The Network Architect sets network priorities, assigns and oversees network projects, and provides architectural and technical direction. The Senior Network Engineer is expected to independently execute assigned work, own complex issues through resolution, and keep the Network Architect informed of progress, risks, and technical decisions.
What You'll Do
  • Operate and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, datacenter, firewall, and client connectivity environments
  • Configure and support enterprise switching, routing, firewalls, VPNs, and carrier connectivity
  • Own complex network issues and drive them through resolution
  • Lead assigned network upgrades, migrations, equipment installations, and infrastructure projects
  • Coordinate directly with ISPs, vendors, and client hospital IT teams
  • Plan and execute production network changes with appropriate testing and rollback procedures
  • Identify infrastructure risks and recommend improvements
  • Serve as a network escalation resource for the IT team, including occasional after-hours support for critical network issues
  • Follow organizational change management, security, and documentation standards when working in production environments
  • Mentor IT staff and help develop network troubleshooting documentation and runbooks
What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years of hands-on network engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated experience
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching, firewalls, NAT, VPNs, and common network troubleshooting methodologies
  • Working knowledge of dynamic routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP
  • Experience supporting enterprise or datacenter network environments
  • Self-motivated and dependable, with a strong sense of ownership
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot complex network issues while knowing when to communicate risks, seek input, or escalate
  • Ability to independently execute project work under the technical direction of the Network Architect
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Valid driver's license
Nice to Have
  • HPE Aruba / ArubaOS-CX switching experience
  • Hands-on experience managing network infrastructure through Aruba Central
  • Palo Alto Networks firewall experience
  • Hands-on BGP and carrier/WAN experience
  • High-availability datacenter networking experience
  • Healthcare or other compliance-driven IT experience
  • CCNP, Palo Alto, Aruba, or similar networking certification
  • Experience with LogicMonitor or similar monitoring and alerting tools
  • VoIP, PBX, and fax experience, particularly with 3CX
Location & Schedule
  • Candidates local to Fort Wayne or Indianapolis are preferred; strong remote candidates will be considered
  • Core hours are approximately 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Eastern, with flexibility as needed
  • Occasional after-hours work may be required for critical network issues and planned network changes
  • Occasional travel for infrastructure projects and equipment installations, including visits to our Indianapolis datacenter
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and rack/unrack network equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
