Job description

JOB SUMMARY: The Repair Technician serves as a front-line representative of the REV brand and plays an important role in providing quality service to our customers. This includes the installation and repair of products REV offers such as set top boxes, routers, Gateways, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS amp; KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: (include but are not limited to)
  • Troubleshoots Customer issues
  • Installs, upgrades, changes, and troubleshoots video, telephony, and high-speed internet services at customer locations
  • Educates customers regarding their existing and new services, promotes other REV services, and proposes solutions to customer problems
  • Takes whatever actions are required to deliver a great customer experience
  • Providing the highest quality standard in the most productive manner
  • Drives a company truck between office and/or home, warehouse, and work sites in a safe and courteous manner, and in accordance with all laws and company policies
  • Prepares for daily work assignment by properly stocking up equipment and supplies from warehouse
  • Maintains company vehicle inside and out, Including inventory stock
  • Use Mobile Tech dispatch properly including closing tickets out correctly and inventory transactions
KNOWLEDGE amp; SKILLS:
  • Ability to install a triple play service in the proper time frame given
  • Ability to complete the minimum required tasks given in a day to qualify for Good Jobs in Eight Bonus Program
  • Ability to complete a pre-hang including splicing and hanging the ONT, running the jumper at cross box, Identifying the correct fiber and splicing it at the pedestal
  • Ability to properly install aerial fiber optics and meet all height requirements safely while utilizing proper safety equipment
  • Basic knowledge of copper telephony
  • Basic understanding of telephony, video and high-speed internet services and fiber optics
  • Must be able to understand and learn fiber optic color codes
  • Ability to troubleshoot wireless issues within the premise
  • Basic understanding of test equipment, Pon, RF and DSL meters
  • Basic understanding of computers and operating systems
  • Basic understanding of IPTV, IP addresses
  • Basic understanding of networking
  • Basic understanding of HDTV and digital surround formats

EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with procedures established by the company.
QUALIFICATIONS amp; PREREQUISITES:
  • High School degree or GED equivalent
  • 18 years of age
  • Must have a valid State driver’s license and a good driving record
  • Must pass a background check
  • Minimum of one year of work experience in at least one of the following areas: Installation department and or previous training from other telephony companies
  • Basic understanding of test equipment for troubleshooting video, telephony, and high-speed internet
  • Ability to use a 28’ extension ladder in a safe manner and or climb poles
  • Required to work various hours, including day, evening, night and split hours as established to meet service requirements
