Transportation Planner Specialist II

Job Overview

The Transportation Planner Specialist II is responsible for driving tasks to completion and mentoring junior staff. This role requires a heightened level of autonomy and strong business acumen.

Essential Functions

  • Drive tasks to completion amidst ambiguity.

  • Mentor junior staff and provide guidance on project management.

  • Collaborate across functions to achieve business objectives.

  • Engage in problem-solving and analytical thinking to address challenges as they arise.

  • Manage transportation from origin to destination for clinical trial materials and other pharmaceutical products.

  • Track and trace shipments across assigned lanes, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to routing plans.

  • Monitor carrier performance and resolve transportation-related issues.

  • Develop and maintain routing strategies and lead-time management in ERP systems (e.g., SAP).

  • Work closely with Clinical Supply Planning, Master Planning, Clinical Operations, Logistics, Trade Compliance, and external partners.

  • Support initiatives and projects as a functional area expert (SME) for transportation processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Degree in a science or business function or equivalent experience.

  • 2-3+ Years related industry experience in Clinical Trials or Pharmacy (preferred).

  • 2-3+ Years related experience in Clinical Supplies - this could be from Supply Chain, Packaging, Distribution or IRT functions.

  • Ability to demonstrate good project management skills.

  • Ability to create effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to demonstrate effective communication and direction.

  • Ability to problem solve.

  • Good Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc).

  • Proficient in the English language.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $51,000.00 - $127,400.00. Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
