Job description

Position Summary:
The Operations Supervisor – Transportation is responsible for overseeing daily transportation operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with company and regulatory standards. This role manages drivers, monitors route performance, and drives continuous improvement in delivery operations.
Key Responsibilities:

  •  Supervise and manage daily transportation operations, including dispatch and route execution 
  •  Monitor driver performance, safety compliance, and productivity metrics 
  •  Ensure all deliveries meet service standards and time commitments 
  •  Conduct ride-alongs, audits, and performance evaluations for drivers 
  •  Enforce company safety policies, including seatbelt use, distracted driving, and traffic compliance 
  •  Investigate incidents, accidents, and service failures; implement corrective actions 
  •  Utilize GroundCloud systems for route tracking, compliance monitoring, and reporting 
  •  Coordinate with terminal management and logistics teams to optimize route planning 
  •  Train, coach, and discipline drivers as needed to maintain high performance standards 
  •  Manage staffing levels, scheduling, and workload distribution 
  •  Maintain accurate records of performance, incidents, and payroll-related items 
Qualifications:

  •  Previous experience in transportation, logistics, or delivery operations required 
  •  Prior FedEx or last-mile delivery experience strongly preferred 
  •  Experience using GroundCloud or similar fleet management software preferred 
  •  Strong leadership and team management skills 
  •  Knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation safety standards 
  •  Ability to handle high-pressure situations and make quick decisions 
  •  Excellent communication and organizational skills 
Preferred Skills:

  •  Route optimization and dispatch experience 
  •  Performance management and employee coaching 
  •  Data analysis and reporting (KPIs, service failures, safety metrics)
