Job description

Trinity School, a co-educational, K-12 institution located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, seeks a Girls Assistant JV Tennis Coach for the fall 2026 season. This part-time, seasonal, stipend position begins on August 24, 2026 and ends on November 6, 2026, although planning and communication outside of the season is required. The season includes several holidays including Labor Day, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, and Indigenous People's Day.
Specific qualifications include significant experience participating in and/or coaching competitive tennis. A Bachelor's degree is preferred and collegiate tennis playing experience is a plus. Qualified candidates will embrace the unique role of athletics in an independent school setting; have strong organizational skills; embrace and uphold team values (e.g., positive sportsmanship, character, compassion, integrity); have experience in teaching tennis concepts at intermediate to advanced levels; have experience in effectively managing relationships with athletes, coaches, and parents; and be able to attend practices and games.
Junior Varsity practices occur on weekdays with times varying between 3:30 and 6:00 PM. There are approximately 12 matches, some of which last beyond 6:00 PM.
Qualified candidates will also possess intellectual curiosity, strong communication skills, commitment to ongoing professional development, openness to others' ideas, eagerness to extend themselves for others, and a sense of humor.
