Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical and dental histories, to develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Perform a wide range of dental procedures such as dental examinations, fillings, extractions, root canal therapy, prosthodontics, and oral surgery.
  • Utilize advanced dental technology including digital radiography to diagnose conditions accurately.
  • Maintain strict infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and comply with HIPAA regulations.
  • Document all patient interactions meticulously in electronic health records using eForms, Eaglesoft, and Florida Probe.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, treatment options, and preventive care to promote long-term oral health.
  • Collaborate with team members in four-handed dentistry to enhance efficiency and deliver seamless patient care.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proficiency in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and dental documentation standards.
  • Experience with dental office management software such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable.
  • Strong background in pediatric dentistry, endodontics (root canal therapy), prosthodontics (dental fabrication), and oral surgery procedures.
  • Knowledge of infection control practices, sterilization techniques, and aseptic procedures within a dental setting.
  • Excellent communication skills for explaining procedures clearly and empathetically to diverse patient populations including pediatrics.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology related to dentistry and general healthcare practices.
  • DDS/DMD from an accredited dental program
  • Active Iowa dental license (or ability to obtain)
