Job description

Purpose for the Position:
To supervise work activities of cleaning personnel and inspect hotel guestrooms, bathrooms, corridors, and lobbies.
Essential Responsibilities:
  1. Assigns list of rooms to Room Attendants.
  2. Responsible in assisting executive housekeeper in conducting room attendant training, completing room assignments, and serving in the absence of the executive housekeeper.
  3. Posts room occupancy records.
  4. Adjusts guests' complaints regarding housekeeping service or equipment.
  5. Writes requisitions for room supplies and furniture renovation or replacements.
  6. Reports need for room redecoration to Housekeeper.
  7. Examines carpets, drapes and furniture for stains, damage, or wear.
  8. Checks and counts linens and supplies.
  9. Records inspection results and notifies cleaning personnel or inadequacies.
  10. Responsible for assisting in cleaning rooms or public areas and performing laundry functions as workload may require.
  11. Responsible for notifying the Maintenance Department of any necessary repairs or maintenance work via the completion of maintenance work orders or verbal communication.
  12. Distributing to the Room Attendants any new items that are to be stocked in the guest rooms.
  13. Required to be always in uniform when working on the property including wearing a name identification badge.
  14. Supports and adheres to the core values, the mission statement, service fundamentals, and guest service philosophy as defined by the company.
  15. All other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor.

Requirements
Skills and Abilities:
  • Understand simple instructions.
  • Plan the work of others.
  • Learn simple procedures and techniques.
  • Perform routine work or the same task repeatedly.
  • Use hands to lift, carry or pull objects that may be heavy.

Physical Demands: Light work. Exerting up to 20-50 pounds of force occasionally. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree.
