Job description

Operating Room Assistant

University Hospital houses 23 operating rooms (ORs) covering various service lines including Thoracic, General Surgery, Hepatobiliary, Urology, Gynecology, Orthopedics, Oral, Plastics, Ear, Nose and Throat, as well as Abdominal Transplant (Liver, Kidney, Pancreas, Intestine, and Multivesicular). As an integral part of the Academic Health Center, our focus lies on high-acuity patient care, particularly emphasizing cancer-related treatments. We seek highly motivated individuals to join our collaborative team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care.

This is a full time day shift role working 7:00am-5:30pm with a rotating day off. No weekends required!

Operating Room Assistants support the surgical team before, during and after surgery. Assists with operating room preparation by cleaning, procuring equipment and opening sterile supplies. Provides transportation and needed assistance with patient care. Assists Surgical Techs and Nurses with various assigned duties. Works as a member of the surgical team with surgeons, anesthesiologists, registered nurses, surgical technologists and other surgical personnel.

โ€ข Previous experience in a hospital environment preferred.

โ€ข AHA Basic Life Support for healthcare workers certification required.

โ€ข Requires strict adherence to policies and regulations regarding maintenance of sterile field.
