Job description

Hawkeye Flat Roof Solutions is seeking an experienced Commercial Roofing Estimator to manage the bid process from plan review through proposal and submittals. The Estimator is responsible for accurate takeoffs, competitive pricing, and complete bid packages across our commercial low-slope portfolio. Responsibilities: Review plans, specifications, and bid documents Perform material and labor takeoffs for reroof, recover, repair, and new construction projects Conduct roof inspections, field measurements, and existing-condition documentation Request and evaluate supplier and manufacturer pricing Prepare proposals and develop scopes of work, including exclusions, alternates, and unit pricing Prepare and manage submittals, including product data, shop drawings, and system approvals Submit bids to general contractors, owners, and public plan rooms Collaborate with ownership and production on pricing, scheduling, and constructability Follow up on outstanding bids and maintain organized estimating records Qualifications: Minimum 3 years of estimating experience in commercial low-slope roofing Working knowledge of TPO, EPDM, and PVC systems, including mechanically attached, adhered, and recover assemblies Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings and roofing specifications Experience preparing submittal packages Proficiency with takeoff software and spreadsheets Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to walk roofs, climb ladders, and work at heights Valid driver's license and clean driving record Professional written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications: Experience bidding public and institutional projects Familiarity with manufacturer warranty requirements and NDL submittals Knowledge of sheet metal, insulation, and structural deck systems Prior field or foreman experience Requirements: Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
