Nucor is North America's largest recycler and most diversified steel and steel products company. Since 1969, we've led the industry in developing innovative technologies for recycling scrap into high-quality steels that are all around us, from bridges and buildings to cars and appliances.


Basic Job Functions:

The Rolling Mill Day Supervisor will promote and enhance Safety as our #1 value, establish expectations, develop best practices, ensure consistency and reliability in our operations. Additional responsibilities will include but are not limited to: coaching and setting developmental goals for the Supervisor group and Rolling Mill team and goal setting around Safety, Quality, Costs and Production that align with division goals and initiatives, mill scheduling, and working with vendors/contractors to purchase items for the mill - looking for different options to stay competitive.  The person in this role will also be responsible for leading projects to include: conducting research for projects and bringing in/leading contractors who will perform the work. The successful candidate will be involved in all areas of production (maintenance, rolling mill, roll shop, and shipping) and may be reassigned to different area(s) in the future. The Rolling Mill Day Supervisor will take on the responsibilities of the Rolling Mill Manager as needed.  This role will require occasional travel as needed to best mark at other divisions as well as unscheduled overtime. 
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 3 years leadership experience in a manufacturing or related industry.
  • Willing/able to meet the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferences:
  • Five (5) years leadership experience in the Rolling Mill or Maintenance.
  • Four year college degree or other education, training or certifications that show the desire for growth and personal development.
  • Prior rolling experience, Merchant and Rebar
  • Experience leading projects
