Job description

Position Summary

Rentex is seeking a Quality Control Technician – LED to inspect, test, and prepare professional LED displays and LED Poster equipment for rental and client deployment. This role ensures equipment meets Rentex quality standards and is fully operational before leaving the facility.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with professional LED display systems, strong mechanical aptitude, technical troubleshooting skills, and excellent attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and test LED panels, cabinets, posters, frames, processors, and related equipment.
  • Perform visual inspections for damage, contamination, loose components, damaged connectors, and other irregularities.
  • Test power, signal, data connections, and control interfaces.
  • Verify firmware, system settings, configurations, and equipment parameters.
  • Test image quality, including brightness, color, pixel performance, and display uniformity.
  • Identify, document, and communicate equipment issues or performance abnormalities.
  • Maintain accurate QC inspection reports and documentation.
  • Coordinate with Product teams when equipment requires repair, service, or further evaluation.
  • Provide basic technical troubleshooting and occasional after-hours client support.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in AV, electrical, mechanical, or related fields preferred.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with LED displays, AV equipment, Exo Posters, or field technical work.
  • Working knowledge of LED technology, AV equipment, signal flow, and power distribution.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to follow technical documentation, QC procedures, and checklists.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work on your feet frequently.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with ROE, Absen, or Theatrix LED products.
  • Experience with Brompton and Novastar LED video processors.
  • Background in AV, live events, rental, or technical production environments.
