OVERVIEW
FA Climbing & Fitness is a seeking proactive, friendly, and psyched individual to serve as Adult Climbing Instructor. FA exists to support and grow the local climbing community. As adult climbing instructors, you are essential to our mission, providing fantastic climbing instruction and making newcomers and regulars alike feel at home in our facility.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead high-value instructional programs for a variety of ability levels to help members and visitors improve their climbing ability
  • Regular group classes (ex: Learning The Ropes, Intro to Climbing, Movement & Technique, etc.)
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of your own instruction and make changes to improve member/visitor satisfaction; work closely with the Program Director or Gym Manager to ensure high-quality of programs
  • Contribute ideas for new programs/classes/workshops
  • Our instructors will also have the option to instruct in other areas such as:
  • Other group programs (ex: birthday parties, corporate team building events, etc.) are optional
  • Special workshops/clinics (ex: climbing technique, etc.)
  • Individual instruction (ex: private lessons, etc.)


REQUIREMENTS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 2 years of teaching or other relevant experience in adult instruction or program development
  • CWI or equivalent Climbing Instructor certification preferred
  • Enthusiasm for sharing knowledge and love of climbing and fitness a must
  • Exceptional communication skills; solid computer skills
  • Engaging presence in front of a group; Creative problem solving skills; Positive attitude; Flexible working style
  • Upstanding reputation in the local climbing community
