Welder Trainee

Are you interested in starting a career in welding and manufacturing? Steel Craft is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Robotic Welder Trainees. This entry-level opportunity includes three weeks of hands-on welding training, followed by supervised on-the-job experience with a Certified Weld Instructor or Robotic Weld Supervisor.

No previous welding experience is required. We are looking for dependable candidates with manufacturing experience, mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to learn.

What You’ll Do

  • Complete classroom and hands-on training in welding operations, equipment controls, safety, and quality.
  • Operate automated MIG and TIG robotic welding equipment under supervision.
  • Read basic blueprints, specifications, and welding symbols.
  • Load and position parts correctly for welding.
  • Visually inspect welds and completed parts for defects.
  • Perform basic quality checks and document results.
  • Identify equipment or weld-quality concerns and notify the appropriate team member.
  • Enter production and job information into company computer systems.
  • Assist with minor rework, material handling, stacking, and packing.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety, quality, and operating procedures.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience and/or Training:
