Job description
The Department of Anesthesiology invites applications for a full-time, board certified or board eligible anesthesiologist to join a university‑affiliated teaching hospital in metropolitan Phoenix, Arizona. This state‑designated Level I Adult Trauma Center and ABA‑verified Burn Center delivers high‑acuity, multidisciplinary care and offers opportunities for academic appointment.
Practice highlights
- Manage anesthesia for a broad mix of cases including Labor & Delivery, neonatal and general pediatrics, general and robotic surgery, neurosurgery, ENT, plastics, burn care, level I trauma, orthopedics, podiatry, and special procedures outside the OR.
- Perioperative and critical care TEE utilization.
- High-volume service: ~11,000 anesthesia encounters annually.
- In‑house call: 4–5 times per month.
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, evidence‑based anesthesia care for adult and pediatric patients across a wide case mix and acuity spectrum.
- Supervise, teach, and mentor trainees including residents (emergency medicine and surgery), CRNAs, student nurse anesthetists, and medical students.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support high‑complexity clinical operations.
Qualifications
- Board certified or board eligible in Anesthesiology.
- Strong clinical judgment, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑acuity environment.
- Interest in academic medicine and teaching preferred.
