Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Robotic AI Programming Class Instructor role based in San Jose, CA. The instructor will plan and deliver interactive lessons on robotics, coding, and introductory AI concepts, using age-appropriate tools and materials. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing curriculum and lesson plans, teaching classes, guiding students through projects, and providing individualized support to help learners understand core concepts. The instructor will set up and maintain classroom equipment, ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment, and track student progress. Additional duties may include collaborating with staff on program improvement, communicating with parents or guardians about student achievements, and assisting with workshops or special events.
Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of robotics, programming (e.g., Python, block-based coding), and basic AI or machine learning concepts suitable for instruction.
  • Experience teaching or mentoring students in STEM subjects, preferably in classroom, camp, or workshop settings.
  • Ability to design clear, structured lesson plans and hands-on projects that engage learners with different skill levels.
  • Effective communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to inclusive, gender-neutral, and non-discriminatory educational practices.
  • Comfort with troubleshooting hardware and software issues on common educational robotics platforms and computers.
  • Organizational skills to manage class schedules, materials, and student progress documentation.
  • Availability to work part-time on-site in San Jose, CA, including possible evenings or weekends depending on class schedules.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Education, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Prior experience in curriculum development for robotics or AI programs is a plus.
  • Background check clearance as required for working with minors.
