Maintenance Technician (Electrical/Mechanical) CapstoneONE Search | Hoover, Alabama (On-site)

We are representing a globally recognized Fortune 500 manufacturing organization actively seeking a Maintenance Technician to support a high-speed, automated production environment. This role will maintain a strong mix of electrical and mechanical skills, with exposure to PLCs and robotics, to keep equipment running reliably and minimize downtime.


Position Overview

  • Performs preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance on production equipment, including conveyors, motors, pumps, hydraulics, and pneumatics
  • Troubleshoots and repairs electrical systems, including motor controls, relays, sensors, and low/medium voltage circuits
  • Troubleshoots and maintains PLC-controlled equipment and automated/robotic systems, making minor program adjustments as needed
  • Diagnoses root cause of equipment failures and implements corrective actions to reduce repeat downtime
  • Reads and interprets electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals
  • Performs equipment installations, upgrades, and rebuilds in support of new and existing production lines
  • Documents maintenance activities, work orders, and parts usage within the CMMS
  • Follows all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and arc flash procedures
  • Collaborates with Production, Engineering, and other Maintenance team members to support plant KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives


Position Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/trade school certification or Associate's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Maintenance preferred
  • 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience with a strong blend of electrical and mechanical skills
  • Experience troubleshooting PLCs (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell preferred) and robotic systems
  • Working knowledge of motor controls, VFDs, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical power transmission
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a safety-first mindset
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, or overtime as needed to support production
