Mid–Senior Mechanical Engineer

Position Summary
Our client is seeking a Mid–Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the design, integration, testing, and production of advanced autonomous platforms and ruggedized electronic systems. This hands-on engineering role supports the full product lifecycle—from concept and prototype development through production—while partnering with electrical, software, manufacturing, and systems engineering teams.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
Key Requirements
1. Mechanical Design & Electro-Mechanical Integration
- 5+ years of mechanical design experience supporting complex electro-mechanical systems.
- Proficiency with CAD software such as Inventor, SolidWorks, Creo, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing creation.
- Experience integrating mechanical hardware with PCB assemblies, motherboards, sensors, embedded electronics, and wiring/cable assemblies.
2. Product Development & Manufacturing
- Experience designing products for manufacturability (DFM/DFA), cost optimization, and production.
- Hands-on experience with sheet metal, machining, fabrication, and additive manufacturing processes.
- Experience designing mid-sized (2–3 ft.) sheet metal enclosures that house PCB assemblies or motherboard-based electronic systems.
- Experience building, testing, validating, and transitioning prototypes into production.
3. Thermal Design & Ruggedized Electronics
- Experience developing thermal management solutions for electro-mechanical systems, including enclosure cooling, heat dissipation, and thermal analysis.
- Experience using ANSYS or comparable simulation software.
- Familiarity with MIL-STD-810 environmental requirements, including temperature extremes, thermal cycling, shock, vibration, and environmental protection.
4. Preferred Industry experience developing high-reliability mechanical systems within one or more of the following industries:
- Defense
- Aerospace
- Autonomous vehicles
- Robotics
- Ruggedized electronics
- Military systems
- Industrial automation
- Complex electro-mechanical products
