The warehouse of the future is equipped with our autonomous robots instead of forklifts and our Atlas 2D pallet shuttles or tote shuttles that allow for high-density storage (no wasted space).

As part of stow Group which has a 40 year history, we've grown into a company with 10 manufacturing facilities, 19 commercial offices, and the know-how of around 2000 employees serving customers in 40 countries.

Early 2021, we opened our US Office in Romeoville, IL and have since grown to over 70 people. It's exciting times to be at Movu! (pronounced Mow-voo)

Job Description

The PROJECT MANAGER is an integral person in helping our customer's vision for an automated storage solution from Movu US come to life. The core objective is to execute sold projects within the set timelines and budget. Oftentimes, there's close collaboration with the assigned Racking Project Manager from stow US.

Solutions: Fully automated storage solutions including pallet shuttles (atlas), tote shuttles (eScala), as well as automated mobile robots (iFollow) and ancillary systems such as conveyors and lifts.

Customers: End users are located throughout the United States and Canada. We work with many of the leading integrators as our Sales partners.

Typical project size: 1-40M

As our PROJECT MANAGER, you...

  • take over from Sales and Sales Engineering and lead kick off meetings
  • are the single point of contact for the integrator customer throughout the project lifecycle
  • collaboratively create material schedules based on the customer's timeline
  • communicate progress, roadblocks and suggested solutions proactively to the customer and internal stakeholders at all stages of the project
  • develop the project budget with assistance from management
  • issue purchase orders for locally sourced products, equipment, services, etc.
  • collaborate with Project Engineering and Supply Chain regarding transport planning
  • ensure that building specs are confirmed in an initial site survey
  • present the project plan to the end-customer and integrator
  • create project schedules
  • secure installation contractors and share instructions/drawings
  • initiate change orders
  • initiate customer invoicing at key milestones in SAP
  • keep track of project spend
  • identify project risks or uncertainties, escalate issues to the relevant project stakeholders, take mitigative action to stay within the project timeline
  • be accountable for the automation installation with the assistance of a lead commissioning engineer
  • work with a stow US Racking Project Manager to insure racking is installed on time and within the needed automation specification
Qualifications

This lets us know you're up for the job

  • 5+ years of experience in a directly relatable position
  • Experience with the complexities of executing multimillion-dollar custom warehouse systems projects from A-Z is required
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required
  • PMP certification is preferred but not required
  • SAP knowledge is beneficial
  • Travel throughout North America to customer sites, 30-75% across the year; varying based on the project phase. Usually no more than 1 week at a time, but could be more during a project startup.
  • If living remotely, regular travel to our office in Romeoville to work closely with Engineering and Management (20-30% depending on project travel requirements)
  • On rare occasion, you may also be traveling to our headquarters in Belgium (possibly once a year for no more than 2 weeks)
  • We work closely with our European colleagues. The morning hours are the most important so we can connect with them while our business hours overlap across time zones. Our business hours are 8 am - 5 pm CST. Early birds are welcome to get the worm.
