DIRECT REPORTS: None
POSITION OBJECTIVE: Major responsibility of the position is to assist the Robotics Program Head Coach and oversee the assigned teams participating in the Robotics Program/Clubs..
QUALIFYING CHARACTERISTICS: The employee must be a Christian with an authentic and a mature personal relationship with Jesus Christ, who agrees to the HCS Statement of Faith, Charter of Core Values and Employee Covenant in both their professional conduct and personal lifestyle. The employee is committed to incorporating these qualities and standards in carrying out the calling to Christian education. (Include when appropriate for the position: In addition, the ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships, representing Christ and HCS professionally and positively with the HCS community-at-large, including faculty and staff, parents, volunteers and others is crucial to the success of this role.
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A high school diploma is required, and a Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or education is desired. Prior experience in the field of engineering and/or teaching STEM with school aged students is desired
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Understands how to write and fix computer code
Understands basic mechanical engineering
Project management experience
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist with registration, organization and overseeing competitions held on the HCS campus as well as off-site events and attend all on campus Robotics events for said team.
Organize, attend and oversee meetings, practices, scrimmages and competitions held on the HCS campus as well as off site tournaments.
Assist with scheduling student representatives to participate in the Robotics display at all Open House events and oversee the updating of the Open House Robotics display as needed.
Time Commitment: 4-6 hours/week during the robotics season

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position. Must be able to maintain a stationary position for the majority of the workday. Must be able to traverse campus. Must be able to communicate with others. Specific vision abilities required in this position include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to hear low-volume sounds. Must be able to assist children for health and safety reasons
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The Robotics environment, at times, may include mid to high noise levels; practices and competitions may require movement across campus or the competition site with active coaching/participation with students that includes standing, sitting and kneeling; regular interactions with families are expected and necessary so that communication remains open; physical demands may include lifting, carrying, moving up to 30 pounds of Robotics equipment for practices, scrimmages and events.
